Along the Lewis River! I found and scanned some older images from one of my favorite camping places from lifelong adventures with family, and am sharing them here for fun. The stories are in the captions which can be seen by clicking on the images and scrolling through them with the arrows.
At the bottom of the page you will also find links for my three calendars currently available.
Cool Waters of the Lewis river, colored by the green Shale in the riverbed
me under the old bridge torn half down when I was a kid, it did not collapse fully until a couple years ago.
I can almost see our big family bustling around this campsite as we did for so many years. My folks created this campsite starting when I was still in the Womb. It grew over the years as the family grew, and the forest service finally gave up and let the tables stay here along with the awning supports over the tables
When I was little, this old Cedar stump would get covered every year with branches and ferns and become a fort. Younger nephews and nieces carried on the tradition, and gradually the stump wore down.
Middle Falls on the Lewis River was a favorite place to hike to, fishing and gathering rocks. My daughter and I camped near here for 3 days in 2008 and enjoyed feeling the presence of Grandpa-Dad and Grandma-Mom.
My Dog Rio was new to this place, and she loved it too
this campfire happened in this spot for generations
a trip down to the river for water turns into play time in the sand and forest
My daughter in our favorite old burned out tree stump from over 80 years ago.
We made this for my Dad, Claude Black, who was the best Fisherman on the river, and always wanted to be buried up here someday.
My brother Boyce following in our dad’s footprints, on another journey to the river even earlier
The rich greens of this river are dreamy
on one of the journeys back, I found this heart stone sitting just like this… and in my heart it was a gift from Mom and Dad
Peek a boo of Lower Falls

My mother taught me to love the world around me… and if I can help others to see with new eyes by showing that beauty through photography. I have accomplished my hearts goal . Husum, WA is my childhood home and I consider home to be anywhere from Mount Adams to the Columbia River. I give thanks to my parents for their love for Nature and God.
