I would love your feedback on the waterfalls… something I have not practiced as much as clouds 🙂 Your preference and why, and any tips you would like to share.
One is shot with a 1.3 sec, shutter speed at f22 and processed softly, the second one is shot with shutter speed of 1/5 at f11 and processed with stronger contrasts.
shot at f22, 1.3 seconds at ISO 100shot at f11, 1/5 seconds at ISO 100
My mother taught me to love the world around me… and if I can help others to see with new eyes by showing that beauty through photography. I have accomplished my hearts goal . Husum, WA is my childhood home and I consider home to be anywhere from Mount Adams to the Columbia River. I give thanks to my parents for their love for Nature and God.

My work can be found online in full on Flickr, and while I am not set up to sell on that site, if you find a print of any size or style you wish to inquire about simply email me and I can send you a price list of prints by themselves or framed or mounted on foam core, gallery wraps, and standouts. I also license my photos for use in magazines, travel brochures and for web site use, and have been published several times. During the summer I am often at Saturday Market in Trout Lake or Hood River with my Note Cards and Prints

I prefer the second image, simply because it shows more detail. I think that too much softening prohibits the viewer from seeing how fast the water is flowing or how deep it is.
Darlisa, I think your eye goes immediately to the water fall in #1, where in #2 your eye first focuses on the moss covered logs and then works it way back to the waterfall. I prefer #2 also. 🙂
thanks my friend! yes, I do know some pretty places out in Gifford Pinchot, and Mount Hood forest too! what a world we live in. thanks for the feedback…
one of my favorite waterfalls! yes, no 2 is the best. theres something about the green of the moss in the front (in no 1), it just feels “off”. the waterfall is best in no 2 also

I like the first one. Lends a dreamy quality to the forest, which I like.

Ah #2 is, for me, more appealing: crisper, deeper color with more clarity in the rapids closer to camera. You go to nice places!
