Summer Joys on the Mountain

Yes I am going back to summer now, since it is brighter and warmer than what is outside!   These are all from my July 2013 folder from camping and hiking up in Bird Creek Meadows on the SE slopes of Mount Adams in southern Washington State. Please share my work with your friends usingContinue reading “Summer Joys on the Mountain”

A Night at the Lake

Last night I headed out from home about 11:30 pm on what has become a more rare adventure. There were rumors of Aurora activity, so I headed to a favorite location. Intriguing Clouds over Mount Hood and Mount Adams

Lately I have been randomly dropping into older files from the last couple years looking for treasures that had been forgotten.  Here are a few of Lennies (my name for lenticular clouds) over Mount Hood and some interesting fluffy wannabe lennies over Mount Adams.  Judging from the rest of the day, the clouds over MountContinue reading “Intriguing Clouds over Mount Hood and Mount Adams”

Mirror Lake on Mount Adams

I recently was blessed to witness this amazing sunset that just did not end for the longest time, moving from orange through red into pink and purple… and a while before that I caught this more subtle one.  I love to be up here in Tract D and Bird Creek Meadows.  The season will notContinue reading “Mirror Lake on Mount Adams”

Views along the Climber’s Trail on Mount Adams

One of my favorite places on Earth is up on the South Eastern Alpine slopes of Mount Adams in Bird Creek Meadows.  Part of Tract D, this area was part of the original Mount Adams WIlderness that was returned to the Yakama Nation in 1972 as per original Treaty of 1855.  More information on thatContinue reading “Views along the Climber’s Trail on Mount Adams”

Bird Creek Meadows is Blossoming

Bear Grass has such intriguing blossoms, and they are thick this year! These images were all taken July 3, 2013.  Many of the lower blossoms are faded now July 12, but higher up the road there are still many flowers to enjoy.  There are also cute Critters. We also get some lovely sunsets… this oneContinue reading “Bird Creek Meadows is Blossoming”
