Bird Creek Meadows 2018

Someone recently sent me a bunch of pictures to share of tract D area, Bird Creek Meadows, and Mount Adams. . The devastation around the lakes up there was pretty intense but up in the Meadows things are not so bad. The three collage pictures of burned structures are The trailers of the Yakama Tribe Rangers that were up there at the time, at Mirror Lake and Bird lake.

These were shared anonymously but I appreciate the inside look at one of my favorite areas. I haven’t been up there since the Cascade Creek fire in 2015.

Yakama Tribes are in charge of this area and it is still closed to the public because of the Cascade Creek fire damage. They have no intentions of opening it at all this year and have been working on rebuilding fences, picnic tables, out houses, fire pit, trails, roads, signs etc.

Oh the Clouds!

Recently I was sitting out at the lake and listening but not taking too many pictures. It seemed as though any sunset was going to fizzle, when suddenly all the color came back!

My Backyard

I feel so blessed to be living where I do now, in Trout Lake. Tonight I heard the Elk bugling out beyond the lake, and the creek behind the house is sooo peaceful.

Sunset in Glenwood

On my way back from the woods Wednesday evening, i witnessed this wonderful sunset over Mount Adams, from Glenwood, WA.

Spring Storms

After spending some lovely time trying and failing to catch some lightning in Southern Washington Cascades May 6, i finally gave up on that and just enjoyed where I was standing. Hope you enjoy it with me!

Happy Earth Day!

Here is a series of images taken on 4/20/18, from Trout Lake to White Salmon, WA. These are phone shots. I hope you enjoy, and I hope you find yourself grateful today for this wonderful planet we all share. Thank you for your visits, feel free to share my posts!

A Happy Life

No matter what you do in life, no matter what traumas or Joys happen around you, you can always look around you in this beautiful world and find good things to warm your heart. Feeling very peaceful and content today, and here are some of the reasons why.

Monday Cloud Evolution

An evening progression of Standing Wave Clouds near Mount Adams Monday 3/26, starting in Trout Lake, Washington and driving to Glenwood further east and north.

Looking south and east

And south and west:

Again looking north, halfway between Trout Lake and Glenwood:

And looking at the same clouds from Glenwood side, with a barely visible Mt. Adams:

Panorama directly North:

Panorama looking West from near the rodeo grounds:

And again a bit later

Including an iPhone video just for fun:

Cloud Evolution

I’m sure you figured out by now that I’m fascinated by clouds, and how they change so quickly sometimes. These clouds in Glenwood yesterday had their own unique metamorphosis during the evening hours. I will be posting another series as well in a separate post.

Frosty morning in Trout Lake

First time in awhile, i actually got up early before sunrise and ran out with my camera! Felt so good, too. ❤️😀❤️Although i sm sure my fingers wete on the edge of frostbite again. 🤪⛄️. Watched the moon setting, and the glorious new day shine on sparkly snow. Light shining into the darkest crevices of the soul cleaning out some winter cobwebs. Life is good!!

Here are a few phone pics for now. I am crossing my fingers that the camera card that suddenly told me i needed to format it will still be able to be downloaded. That moon over Trout Creek was soooo pretty.

Enjoy! Hope your day is full of happy moments of beauty and kindness.
