June Sunset in the Gorge

Recently I was treated to an amazing sunset over the Columbia River Gorge in White Salmon, Washington.  I drove to the top of a hill, met some new friends, and fell in love all over again with clouds and wind in my hair on a hill top as day deepened into twilight.  Do you know that feeling?  If not, find yourself out there somewhere, by a river, on a hilltop, in a desert.  Watch past the sunset, watch for the fading light, the appearance of first planets and stars… and just breathe it all in with Gratitude.

For anyone who misses my more regular posts, I have no internet at home and it has been challenging to get somewhere with everything to post, when I do pop on internet, I have so many things to catch up on I get very little done!

Anyone want to help with that? I have a Tip Jar, a donate button on my wordpress website here, on the right sidebar down aways. Working my way back into the world again slowly, it has been a slow process this year, and have not been able to really work much lately. Things are looking up however! I will be an intern this summer at the museum in Bingen on weekends… you should pop in there and check out the displays, make a small donation to the museum, or even become a member for $20 a year for individuals!

Crazy new Cup Ideas

I was just messing around with ideas for a  tall 15 oz mug and a few 11 oz mugs as well… what do you think, is it worth doing?  These might end up costing way too much to resell unfortunately unless there is a bulk option.  These I came up with over at Shutterfly where I do a lot of my books and my calendars.  In any case I had fun playing with combinations, whether I actually make any or not!  In most cases there are 3-4 images for the same cup, different angles, and as you can see I wasted way too much time today on a project that is a total offshoot from what I “should” be doing.  I am like that sometimes, so easily sidetracked, especially by a new creative idea.  I am also working on more magnet ideas, but those will be a later post.

If you just want to glance at  a few of these and get on to the information about that huge sale I have been talking about, you can find that post here

Or perhaps you wanted to see my best galleries to look for a print for someone… This is the link for my photo galleries.  It is also in the sidebar menu to your right

and now on to the crazy cup ideas!

Aurora Borealis in Washington State

The featured image above and this next image are from June7,2013, as Northern lights danced in the midnight and early morning sky while I danced around my camera in the silence of a mountain night… which is never really silent, but alive with the songs of the stars, the movement of nocturnal birds and animals. The sort of silence that refreshes my spirits even without the Aurora dancing overhead!

ahhh, a night when color filled the sky to the north of Mount Adams, in southern Washington. What a great night!

More of the same feeling of the deep night on June 1 as I snapped images from 1 am until sunrise near Mount Adams. The rich tones of the night recharged my spirits and brought me energy. This next slideshow is taken throughout that night into sunrise. I hope you enjoy!

Snowstorm Dec. 15, 2012

IMG_2980

White Salmon was turned into a fairyland Saturday afternoon and evening, children and adults were throwing snowballs and walking around looking at Christmas lights in the snow… invigorating and beautiful!  Good to enjoy while you can, by morning it was half melted and looking more bleak.

These are all iPhone shots taken around town during the storm

Damage Control

I tell you I have been learning so much and sometimes it seems the more I learn the less I know. I am now redirecting my starlisa.net site back here again while we wipe out the whole site I had so lovingly built. i was creating it on a flawed base since that last hack job… and so it grew worse.

I will rebuild, perhaps with help, and it will be better than ever!

Meanwhile, I do still have 2013 calendars available… or will soon. I have sold out of what I had on hand and am ordering more~! Thanks everyone who has helped support me by purchasing my products, you have helped me to get through this difficult year. I love the way we can grow and stretch our minds and wings when there are challenges to overcome in life.

Meanwhile, check out my facebook and flickr pages, or Google+… there are many many photos there to look at, and a few on here as well in my links to books and galleries.
